Why create a paywall?
Our mission is non-profit, however in order to fight the dominance of big tech, we needed to create (and maintain) our own private servers. Cloud storage, radio, TV, web hosting and web domains are unfortunately not free to maintain. We hope you understand and appreciate our independent efforts.
Do we profit from others intellectual property?
No. In fact we operate 'in the red' just to give ourselves our own platform. It is really one glorified hobby and work of passion. Our influence in New Zealand (and the rest of the world) is super tiny and niche. Content we host is provided to us by their original content creators who sometimes don't have their own resources to have a platform in hosting their art. Or are given to us simply as free promotion for them to amplify their works.
If we don't host these works, we often 'relay' the material straight from the original content creator's platform, simply live streaming it from their channels.
If we wanted to become rich, we'd just look at the tallest buildings in our city, and become a banker. Or suck on the public tit and become a politician, milking the political machine (enforced by military industrial complex and 'policy' officers), all from our delicious taxes.
Who are some of our close collaborators?
Mike from www.mikeinthenight.com has been running his show (as a hobby, much like Ralphe) for years but reached out to Ralphe in order to take care of some of the 'technical stuff' like converting video manually every week to a more portable .mp3 audio format, and web design and hosting.
Vinny www.thevinnyeastwoodshow.com (the most censored personality in New Zealand) has also reached out and appreciates the extended reach our podcasts provide.
Talk to any credible activists and you will find we are not milking anything, in fact are doing these activities in order to give future generations a fighting chance in what is clearly by each day becoming a world that puts us peasants in a more and more entangled economic and moral disadvantage.
What 'woke' Ralphe up?
The event September 11th 2001 was a catalyst that quickly started rising questions of the pre-planned structure of our lives, followed by seeing the documentary Zeitgeist which further shook the fundamentals of what we considered as money. Then it wasn't until experiencing London UK through applying for an Overseas Work VISA, that really ramped up the awakening.
As part of travelling around Europe with bare bones budget, Ralphe took up some temping jobs and landed a unique experience waitering for an 'elite agency' (for around 18 months) serving cocktails and food to bankers, Hollywood celebrities, famous musicians, politicians (like The Clinton Foundation), which gave first insight into the corrupt power, decadence, revolving-door and selfish self preservation that the elite class have. Two quotes were overheard in-person,
Bill Clinton saying 'the purple elephant in the room is over population'. And some bankers scheming 'to prepare a nation for war you must first instil in every day life, hatred, fear, racism, and divide.'
Still not convinced?
Look closely and many of the 'bonus content' that is blocked by this paywall is actually still available FOR FREE. For example, look at the bottom player (in white), of every page at www.ralphe.co.nz and you will see a 'FREE' button to download (some but not all, as the rest is to be unlocked) the latest Mikeinthenight.com podcasts, Ralphe music podcasts and more. This will hopefully entice you to unlock our additional content, and in return continue to support our private servers.
Convinced to support the little guys in this fight for narrative?
All media is narrative. We are in a war of narratives. In New Zealand the biggest media companies have a reach of 96% of kiwis (a stat we learned by simply browsing through job availabilities and this number was boasted by the monopoly that is MediaWorks). We only (if lucky) have a very small and niche fraction of that. We have no advertising except through word of mouth. In this world of chaos we want to keep you Entertained, Educated and Enlightened. Join us now for a small 'coffee' amount each month. So we can focus on being cool and creative.
